GLP1Cost is a free, independent educational tool that helps people understand the cost and expected weight-loss timeline of GLP-1 medications. We built it because the existing GLP-1 information landscape is dominated by drug manufacturer marketing, telehealth ads, and surface-level news articles - none of which let you compare drugs head-to-head on the numbers that actually matter to a patient.
What this tool does
The calculator takes your starting weight, chosen drug, payment method, and time horizon, then projects two things side-by-side:
- Weight loss over time- modeled from the drug's phase 3 clinical trial primary endpoint, fit to a realistic exponential curve.
- Cumulative cost over time - based on manufacturer pricing, telehealth public pricing, and typical insurance copay ranges as of May 2026.
You can then compare all 8 GLP-1 drugs by cost-per-pound-lost in one table - the most useful number for understanding cost-efficiency.

GLP1Cost is not affiliated with Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, or any telehealth provider. We may earn affiliate commissions when readers click through to telehealth platforms, but our drug rankings and recommendations are based purely on published efficacy data and public pricing - never on commission rates.
How we keep data fresh
Drug pricing changes frequently, and the GLP-1 pipeline is evolving fast. We periodically refresh pricing data and add new drugs as they receive FDA approval. Our pricing reference is current as of May 2026. The footer of every page shows the same timestamp.
Editorial standards
We follow these editorial rules on every page of GLP1Cost:
- Clinical claims source from primary trial publications.Weight-loss percentages, time-to-peak figures, and side-effect frequencies come from each drug's named phase 3 trial (STEP-1, SURMOUNT-1, OASIS-4, ATTAIN-1, REDEFINE-1, and others), not from press releases or manufacturer marketing materials. - Pricing claims source from public manufacturer and telehealth channels. List prices come from the manufacturer's Wholesale Acquisition Cost (WAC). Self-pay prices come from LillyDirect.com and NovoCare. Telehealth prices come from each platform's public pricing page. Insurance copay ranges are typical industry ranges and explicitly disclosed as plan-dependent.
- Affiliate revenue does not influence editorial. Drug rankings reflect cost and clinical efficacy, never commission rates. We will rank a non-paying source above an affiliate partner when the data supports it. See /affiliate-disclosure.
- Numbers shown to readers trace back to a single source of truth. Every price displayed on the site is derived from
lib/drugs.tsin our codebase, so the calculator and every content page can never drift apart. The calculation engine itself is documented at /sources. - Last-reviewed dates are honest.A page is marked "reviewed" on a given date only when it has actually been re-checked against current trial data and pricing on that date. We do not auto-bump dates.
- Conflicts of interest are disclosed. GLP1Cost is independently owned and operated. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any drug manufacturer (Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly) or telehealth platform. Affiliate relationships with telehealth services (Hims, Ro, Found, Lemonaid, LifeMD, GoodRx) are fully disclosed.
